Arminta Louise Brown, 84, passed away Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Parkview Care Center in Evansville. She was born in Gibson County on April 28, 1939 and grew up in Lyles Station, then moved to Browns, Illinois, and finally in Evansville. One of her greatest joys in life was taking care of her family. She was a good mother and enjoyed sewing. Arminta was a member of Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Evansville and along with her congregation and her friends, all her family will miss her beyond measure.
Arminta is survived by her husband, Roy Von Brown; children, Anita Brown, Dondi Brown (Wendy), Perdita Brown, Vonia Brown, and Vondi Brown (Kimberly); grandchildren, Carl Jr. Cooper, Davonda Cooper, Donita Cooper, Chelsea Brown, Cameron Brown, Demario Sanders (Bree), McKinley Davis, Kyla Koontz, Jeffre Allen, and Jacob Allen; 7 great-grandchildren; siblings, Lionel Madison (Donna), Ernestine Chavis, and Audrey Madison; nephew, Rickey Marshall Brown; and several other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, McKinley Madison and Ocia (Lyles) Madison; an infant son, Roy Von Brown, Jr.; daughter, Zonia Brown Sanders; 4 brothers; and 4 sisters.
The family would like to thank the staff at Parkview Care Center and the Linda E. White Hospice House for their care and compassion shown for Arminta.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 27, 2024 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton. Interment will follow at Sand Hill near Lyles Station in Princeton. Visiting hours will be held from 12 until 2:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
